A man is driving down a country road somewhere in Idaho, when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of potatoes. He pulls the car over to the side of the road & notices that the potato farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.

The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?"

The potato farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize."

 "How?" asks the man, puzzled.

"Well I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are out standing in their field."

The Glass Ark- The Story Of Biosphere 2

One of the most unusual and daring experiments took place in the fall of 1991, the objective was to learn more about our planet and its problems. It took place in the desert of the American Southwest located near the mountains not far from Tucson, Arizona. It was the largest greenhouse ever made, it covered an area equal to three football fields and stands to the height of eighty-five feet. This sealed greenhouse was the home of a very special group of inhabitants. A crew of four men and four women from three different countries lived inside its glass walls with four goats, three pigs, numerous chickens, and 3,800 other species of animals and plants gathered from around the world. They were a part of an amazing experiment that was trying to imitate life on earth. Sealed inside was a tropical rain forest, a grassy plain, a marsh, a desert, a farm, a village and even a miniature ocean. In the fall of 1991 the doors were sealed shut for the first long term closure. For two years no supplies came in from the outside world, just sunlight and electricity. It's creators called this new world Biosphere 2.

Folders to Manage Your E-Mail Inbox

Getting so much mail that you are overwhelmed? Here is a way to have your computer sort email before you see it.

First create a new folder. Let's use district 5 news for the example.

(Outlook Express directions)

Right click on Outlook Express above the inbox folder.

Select 'New Folder'

Type in: 5 News

Click OK

You will now have a folder called 5 News listed under drafts. Now click on the Tools icon at the top of your screen

Click on In box assistant

Click on the button Add

In the space called subject, type: [DISTRICT5NEWS]

(or copy and paste [DISTRICT5NEWS] from this message including the

brackets)

In the bottom half of the window click on the box next to 'move to'

Click on Folder button (highlighted)

Choose 5 News

Press OK

Now all incoming [DISTRICT5NEWS] messages will be moved to the new folder. You can do this with all your talk lists or you can sort by author, or To, or you can block messages from addresses you don't want any more mail from such as spam. If I get two spams from one address, then I block that address which will cause it to bounce back to the sender.

You can also create folders to save messages in. For example, I have one called 'Goat Medicine'. I save really good posts in that file for future reference. I also have one called 'Goat Dairy Start Up'. This is a file of drafts that I regularly send out in response to commercial goat dairy questions. Saves me a lot of cut and pasting or retyping.

Folders will help you manage your saved messages and keep your inbox

uncluttered. BTW [DISTRICT5NEWS] is a talk list for American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) members living in ADGA district 5 or others interested in dairy goat information in the Midwest For subscribe information go to
