Mark your calender for the Michigan Dairy Goat Society - Spring Goat Day, March 13, 2004 held at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
The scheduled speakers include Todd Biddle, Linda Campbell, LeeAnn Fosdick, DVM., Judy Marteniuk-Refsal, DVM, Russ Bennett, Bill Blake and Chuck Oliver.
Topics include Making a Living With Your Goats, Using Goat Products, meat and milk, Showmanship, Reading Pedigrees/Sire Summaries, So You Want to Be a Judge, What is Linear Appraisal, Organic Farming, Kidding Season, Goat Diseases, and Selling Goat Products on the Web. The day also includes a youth creative writing contest, food products contest, MDGS auction, and auction of the MDGS "Goat News" cover photo spots. There is a potluck lunch and annual membership meeting. Registration is from 7:30-8:30, with classes starting at 8:30am. This is a free event, so plan to attend.
Vendor space is available. Springcreek Goat Supply and Doug's Sharp Shop will be there.

Arkansas Goat Producers Association will be hosting a QUAD Dairy Show in conjunction with the Arkansas Spring Show in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 1 and 2. We are still finalizing plans for a pygmy/ mini and possible boer shows. We have applied for and been accepted for a Saanen specialty. May 22/23 2004The Heartland Tri Capra weekend will be held in Cambridge IL. (very near the Quad Cities and just a short way off I80). The Judges are Paul Kempe from WV and Christen Adels from PA. In addition Harvey Considine will be on site providing his HES. The weekend consists of a One Day milk test on Saturday, along with 2 Jr. Doe show and 2 Buck Shows. We would like to invite all goat enthusiasts to a statewide clinic on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Ohio, Clermont County Fairground. The Youth Program includes: Goat Health/Management - Speakers are Rodney and Jennifer Smith Goat Breeders and OH 4-H AG Agent, Goat Nutrition - Speaker Purina Mills, Fitting Teams Competition and Showmanship, Everyone Wins - Speaker Joel Smith from Willow Run Dairy, and Quality Assurance for Meat and Dairy Goats. Adult Program includes: Various Goat Health Topics - Speaker Dr. Hubbard, DVM, who also is a member of ADGA and raises dairy goats, From a Judge's Point of View - Speaker Patricia Allen-Ricotta, an American Dairy Goat Association Judge, and an Adult Skill-a-thon. "Goat Games" competition will be held during lunch time. Door Prizes and drawing for an Alpine doe kid and/or wether will also be provided. Please come and join the fun. There is no admission charge and lunch will be available to purchase.

Tulsa, Oklahoma, Green Country Dairy Goat Association will be having a spring show. It will be held on April 27th. and 28th., 2002. The judge for Saturday will be Amy Simon and the judge for Sunday will be Chuck Pedersen. There will be two buck shows both on Saturday evening. It will be held at Antoinette Baker's place north of Tulsa, OK. Food will be available on-sight at a consession stand. Plenty of Pens are available. Please contact show officials for pen fees. The GCDGA is hosting a Dinner Saturday Night. There will be electrical hook ups but no shower facilities. Donations are being accepted for a fund-raising auction.
