ISBA News
Message from Sec/Tres

Gwen Johnson

This is to remind all you Sable owners that we have a year's grace to register all Sables that you have, espcially the ones that come through the breeding up program, whether deliberately breeding up to Sable or whether Sable coloring has occurred during the breeding up process for American Saanens. If you wish to have your Sables acknowledged as Sables that are officially 87.5% AS for does or 93.25% for bucks, they *must* be registered with ISBA in 2004 before ISBA provides ADGA our Sables.

After 1 January 2005, the Sables will require 3 generations of color during the breeding up process like the rest of the breeds in ADGA, which will delay the American designation for another generation or two.

To be acknowledged as a Sable, an animal must begin with at least 50% Saanen or Sable documented heritage.

Please send a copy of the ADGA registration with colors of ancestors included plus $1.50 to

Donna Palmer

P.O. Box 5039

Central Point, OR 97502

The other item of business is a reminder that membership dues are due for 2004. The fees are $15 for joint membership, $10 for single membership, and $5 for junior membership. Send those dues to me:

Register your Sables

As you all have heard, we need for you to register all your sables with ISBA prior to January 1 2005 so that they can be counted in with the foundation herdbook!

Registration is inexpensive with ISBA and gives you a registration certificate and placing in our ISBA database to share with ADGA.

Donna Palmer is our new registrar. Her address is

Donna Palmer

PO Box 5039

Central Point, OR 97502

If you have any questions about your registration , her telephone number is:

541-664-1349

or you can email her at

webslave@cybergoat.com

Your registrations will help to strengthen our basic numbers to get started with. Donna has designed a beautiful registration certificate that she will enter all your information on and return to you.

It is so nice of you to keep me updated. Hope your Holidays are enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Ruth

***Editor: Thank you Ruth for your kind message. Those of us who have worked hard for Sable recognition will never forget the contribution that you and Donald have made to Sables over the years. Thank you so much!!

Message From Gwen: Wairere Kiwi I believe was brought into the country by Harvey Considine. Becky's Tomahawk is related to Don West's herd. Loughlin's Sables go back about 20 years; one of these buck's grand dams may be the full sister to Gold Seal Moon Shadow, who is the sire of Klisse's Triumph. Gwen Johnson ISBA Secy/Treas
