Joshua and Jam [ Sable Doe ]

Hello, my name is Joshua Kaplewski. I started raisingdairy goats about eleven years ago with a few Nubians and two Saanen crosses. It wasn't too long after that we got into showing at the county fair. Although not a sanctioned show, it was enough to spark the interest in showing. A few years later we had purchased two beautiful Saanen kids from Marilyn Grossman of Kickadee-Hill farm. My brother, Nicholas, and I were so excited when our little Natasha took the Junior Champion award at our first sanctioned show. Sadly we lost Natasha at an early age, but Marilyn did her best to keep us from getting disheartened and even let us get a little doeling to replace her, Kickadee-Hill Clearly Royal. After Princess freshened, she was shown at the Wisconsin State Fair and earned 1st place yearling milker. We were hooked!

We now have approximately 80 head of mostly Purebred and some American Saanens. We also are raising Purebred French Alpines. Never thought I'd get into Sables, but knew that it was only a matter of time since the Sable genes are ever present in the Saanen breed just waiting to show their 'colors'. When one of our Purebred Saanens gave us a beautiful Sundgau Sable doeling that looked exquisite, we were in. I am happy to be called a Sable breeder!
