Believe it or not, I used Scour Halt for pigs! It worked great, and is cheap! You must put drops in 3x a day, in each eye. Also, put some paper towels (torn in half) in a coffee can and add Listerine. Use these wipes to clean the eye area of all the goo that is transferable to the other goats.

You can also use the Teramycin ointment for the eyes, or use Biomycin 200 (not LA200 as it burns the eyes) - just remember the 3x a day rule, and to CLEAN it well! Laurie Ann

..keeping the eyes clean, it made all the diff in the world and healed much faster when i washed around the eye area, with some disinfectant, kathy

Ron Keener just treated a goat for pink eye with I-D 1. I-D Supplement The stress of moving often trigger things like pink eye.Deidre and Bobbi

You have to treat it topically by flushing the eye and treating it daily with eye salve such as terramycin that you get from your vet or feed store or catalog or off the Internet.

We also give our goats, should they get pinkeye, an injection of penicillin in flotation 1-1/2 CC's twice a day for a week.

So far we haven't had any eye infections in over two years. Paula Blankenhorn

Pat Coleby recommends a drench of 10cc Cod liver oil, high in vitamin A and D, squirt a little in each eye.

I did that and repeated after a couple of days, and a few days later.

A couple of days after that, I had some terramycin and put around eyes.

Pinkeye resolved fine, took a couple weeks. Rob Mahon

Often Neosporin ointment, for cuts and scrapes on people, will clear it right up. The NFZ puffer (it's a powder - nitrafuazone - sp?) also works good.

Linda Meadows

Colloidal silver(500 ppm)- one drop per eye at least 3x a day. Kim

The best solution I have found for pink eye is dry cow mastitis treatment in the eye. Connie Wimmer
