I've never had that to happen yet although I did hear of one case where properly marked sables produced a white kid. when I say properly marked I mean not solid. the solid is, of course, a sable too (<S> I prefer to call them sable) but I've been told that they could produce white so solid colored is something I'd prefer not to use if I have a choice. we have 22 kids on the ground so far this year and all are sable...batting a hundred percent..LOL with our white color carriers we do about fifty percent which I understand is excellent or maybe it's just good luck.

It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Bill:

We have bred "sables" - I prefer to call them Saanens of incorrect color -

and have, many times, had white kids born.

I have only had one white come out, but it did come out. the mother was a black with white markings and the father was a white with brown roan and black markings one kid was a dark dark dark Togg looking thing and the other was as white as white could be no colored hairs anywhere.

So far all my experiences have proven it to be true. I have heard that solid color sable bucks may produce white from time to time but the two color or tri color seems to breed true.

No doubt as we breed sable to sable, are color genetics will only get stronger and white in time will be memory in the sable book. The Melaans of Australia seem to prove this.. rod

The Sable Bucks I have use have been both broken Chamois, and are both Black and white. Do Have a cou- blanc and a beautiful black togged marked this year., one was sable on Sable breeding and the other was Purebred Saanen Sire on Sable doe Rodney J Keener, Herd Manager Shady Vale Saanens,Sables,Oberhasli & Kinders Lillian AL/Cantonment FL
